
It is the mission of the East Bridgewater Department of Public Works (DPW) to enhance the quality of life of East Bridgewater residents through sound management, innovation, teamwork, and vision and to provide dependable, high-quality, responsive public works services, consistent with our community values and at a reasonable cost to East Bridgewater’s citizens, businesses, and visitors.
The DPW is comprised of multiple divisions, each addressing current and future need of the town. The DPW currently has 8 divisions and has 27 full time employees. We have 5 employees in the highway division maintaining approximately 192 lanes miles of roadway, 6 in the water division providing over 332 million gallons of potable water to our residents last year, 3 in Fleet maintenance that repair and maintain nearly 100 vehicles from police cruisers to dump trucks to fire engines, and 6 in Facilities & Grounds that are responsible for over 1 million square feet of municipal and school building space and 55 acres of turf. We have 3 administrative staff that manage a nearly $8 million dollar annual operating budget and over $20 million dollars of capital construction projects underway. Last year this team addressed over 3000 resident generated work requests.
The DPW takes great pride in providing essential and quality of life services 24 hours a day 365 day a year to our community. From the moment they wake in the morning, start the coffee and put the trash at the curb till they drive home from work or the ball field with their family our Public Works team is helping to make that possible.
